Charter of Independent Winegrowers:

A LITTLE HISTORY

A handful of women and men created in 1976 the independent winegrowers' union. At that time, they were called the "Caves Particulières". This name comes from the harvest declaration on which the winegrowers indicate whether they are cooperators or in private cellars. It is the south of France which is the cradle of this grouping of winegrowers. The network over the entire wine-growing region has been done relatively quickly. Today 7,000 members are distributed among the 32 departmental federations and 10 regional federations.

THE MISSIONS OF INDEPENDENT VINEYARDS IN FRANCE

The missions of the Independent Winegrowers of France are based on 2 main axes;

The defense of the profession of independent winegrower

Promotion of the profession and its economic development

THE INDEPENDENT VINEYARD BUSINESS

The independent winegrower cultivates his vines, raises and markets his wine himself. Only the winegrower who meets these criteria can join the Syndicate of Independent Winegrowers of France in his department and benefit from the services made available to him.

Responsible, the independent winegrower fully assumes the quality of his work, performs it with care and competence, with respect for the environment and with the aim of satisfying his customers.

Committed, he chooses to use innovative working methods, without distorting his heritage which he preserves and defends.

Professional, he knows his job perfectly, from vineyard management to welcoming and selling his wines to his customers. To mark this commitment and the quality of his work, each winegrower has signed the independent winegrower charter.

The Independent Winegrower charter commits the winegrower.
